SMPD to host Community Police Academy for residents. Now accepting applications!

We are now accepting applications for our Community Police Academy this September. If you are interested in a behind the scenes look at your police department, want to learn about our roles and responsibilities, and get a transparent look at the internal workings of the department & law enforcement, then we invite you to sign up and attend.
This 11-week program is open to (25) residents of San Mateo. The 2.5 hour classes (6:30p-9p) will provide insight and you'll learn policing is so much more than what you thought it was. It's sure to be a rewarding and memorable experience.
Registration closes on July 1st. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance the week of July 15th. Deadline to confirm acceptance will be due by August 8th. Classes run every Thursday from September 12th through November 21st (Graduation Day).
