Aggressive Driver Mobilization on U.S. Route 30 Results in Numerous Violations
The Absecon Police Department, sponsored by the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office, conducted a targeted enforcement campaign to combat aggressive driving on the U.S. Route 30 corridor. On the morning of June 7, 2024, officers were deployed to the area for a zero-tolerance speed campaign.
During a period of four hours, Absecon officers enforced a total of 61 violations for speed-related offenses. This initiative was a joint effort with the Atlantic City Police Department, showcasing our commitment to ensuring the safety of our community.
The primary goal of this targeted enforcement is to reduce serious injuries and fatalities, thereby providing a safer route of travel on our highways. Aggressive driving behaviors, including speeding, are major contributors to traffic crashes.
This enforcement campaign is expected to continue throughout the summer, further emphasizing our dedication to creating a safer driving environment.
We appreciate the continued support of the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office and our partnership with the Atlantic City Police Department. Together, our goal is to create safe roadways for our residents and visitors to travel.
