Burglary Suspect Arrested for Attempting to Break into One Home and Successfully Breaking into Another in Chino Hills

LOCATION: 15000 block of Monte Vista Avenue, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Kevin Ennis, a 58-year-old resident of Ontario
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at around 8:45 a.m., an unknown suspect attempted to burglarize a residential home in the 15000 block of Monte Vista Avenue in Chino Hills. The suspect could not enter the house and ultimately burglarized a neighboring residence after forcing entry into the home. The suspect stole multiple items and fled. Both victims reported the crimes to Chino Hills deputies. The deputies investigated and gathered investigative leads.
On Friday, May 31, 2024, Chino Hills detectives assumed the investigation and learned the suspect was involved in burglaries in Rancho Cucamonga. Detectives collaborated with Rancho Cucamonga investigators, and the suspect was identified as Kevin Ennis.
On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga station arrested Ennis during a traffic stop in Ontario. Chino Hills detectives assisted in the service of a search warrant at Ennis' motel room and during his interview. Ennis was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for residential burglary and attempted residential burglary.
