INCIDENT: Residential Burglary, Felony Vandalism, and Battery
LOCATION: 300 block of West 25th Street, and 2400 block of North Mountain Avenue, San Antonio Heights
SUSPECT(S): Jeffery Hoffman, 37-years-old, resident of Upland
VICTIM(S): Confidential Male Victim 1
Confidential Female Victim 2
SUMMARY: On Friday, June 7, 2024, at approximately 1:19 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff's Station received a 9-1-1 call from Victim 2, on the 300 block of West 25th Street, reporting a male subject attempting to break into her home. Her husband, Victim 1, was able to stop the subject from breaking into the residence but was subsequently injured during the incident. As deputies immediately responded, dispatch received several other 9-1-1 calls in the area involving an erratic male subject trying to enter their homes as well.
Deputies from the Fontana Station coordinated with deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station, Sheriff's Aviation, and arrived within minutes. As deputies set up a perimeter, a shirtless, male adult, later identified as Jeffery Hoffman, emerged from bushes and ran through nearby homes located on the 2400 block of North Mountain Avenue, attempting to make his way inside additional homes. Deputies quickly located Hoffman and placed him in handcuffs without further incident. Hoffman was arrested for the above charges and transported to West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody.
Investigators believe Hoffman may be responsible for other crimes in the area. Residents near these areas are encouraged to check their video cameras, their property and contact investigators from the Fontana Sheriff's Station regarding any additional crimes Hoffman was involved in.
