The following is a press release from Teton County, WY:

June 8, 2024, Jackson, Wyo. – Teton County is working closely with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), and other local, state, and regional partners to assess the impact that the extended closure of Teton Pass will have on the community.

With the health, safety, and welfare of our community at the forefront, the Teton County Emergency Operations Center has been activated to coordinate whole community efforts regarding the challenges of a long-term closure of Teton Pass. Teton County is working to identify resources and opportunities to address impacts to commuters, businesses, organizations, and visitors.

START Bus (START) is expecting to send Teton Valley commuter buses through Swan Valley and Star Valley and is currently evaluating detailed impacts on schedules and leave times from Idaho. Check the START website at https://jacksonwy.gov/587/START-Bus, or START’s transit application at https://jacksonwy.gov/640/Transit-App for updated information and schedules as they are released.

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has issued an emergency declaration in response to the landslide on Teton Pass. The executive order will help the state access additional resources for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to begin the substantial repairs required. Teton County will advise the public of any resources as they become available.
