Captain Shanon Smith with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 48-year-old Scotty Keith Styles with felonious Breaking or Entering a Motor Vehicle, 3 counts of felonious Financial Card Theft, felonious Larceny of a Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon and felonious Concealment/Failure to Report a Death. Styles was issued a $20,500 secured bond.

Styles was initially arrested on April 24^th for operating the vehicle of a deceased male found in Old Fort. Further evidence in the investigation led to the additional charges against Styles.
