DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 5/07/24 between 11:30 AM & 12:00 PM
LOCATION OCCURRED: Trader Joe’s, 3528 U.S. Route 1
REPORTING OFFICER: Ptl. T. Hojnacki #90
DETAILS: A victim reported to Ptl. Hojnacki that while she was shopping at Trader Joe’s someone had stolen her wallet out of her purse. She stated that the purse had been zippered and placed in the upper portion of the shopping cart. When she went to pay for her groceries she realized her wallet was gone. A few minutes later she was alerted that a purchase for $2,664.56 had been authorized on her credit card, while another purchase for $3,091.06 had been declined at Best Buy located in West Windsor.

LOCATION OCCURRED: Residence located in the Windsor Ponds development

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to a residential burglary in the Windsor Ponds development. Investigation found that while the residents were away at work, their home was entered through an open basement window after the window screen was cut. Many rooms in the house were ransacked and items were stolen from inside. Detective Crawford processed the crime scene for evidence and is the lead investigator for this case.

DETAILS: Ptl. Buchanan was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Sussana Lopez placed four cases of baby formula into the bottom of her shopping cart. She went to the checkout and paid for items in her cart but not the baby formula on the bottom. She claimed she forgot about the formula, which would have been believable, had she not been observed on surveillance video doing the same thing on four (4) previous days. Lopez was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in West Windsor Municipal Court.

Investigation found that a Nissan SUV driven by Serena Brown had driven off of the roadway where it partially struck a utility pole and then hit a tree. Brown was determined to be DWI, processed at WWPD, and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: A victim reported to Ptl. Borup that upon entering the Trader Joe’s market, she placed her cell phone that was in a case with her credit cards in it, into the upper portion of her shopping cart. Soon after shopping, she turned around to look at some vegetables, and when she turned back around her cell phone and credit cards were gone. She went to the bank to report her credit cards stolen, and learned that one of her cards had been used to make purchases at the Apple store in the Quakerbridge Mall. She would later learn that another credit card had been used to make purchases at the Apple store in the Freehold Mall.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods for a shoplifting in progress. Three suspects wearing ski masks were in the store grabbing large quantities of Nike, North Face, and Under Armour clothing. Prior to police arrival, the suspects walked out of the store without paying, but not before one of the suspects gestured at the cashiers and then held a peace sign over his head. The suspects fled in a gray Dodge, and a partial license plate number was obtained by a witness. Ptl. Fiore conducted the follow-up investigation and later identified Scott Comerford Jr. as one of the suspects who stole $3,196.94 worth of clothing. Det. Fiore charged Comerford Jr. with shoplifting on 5/23/24.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to Target for shoplifters who were being detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Zaniya Fenderson used the self-checkout to make purchases. She and a juvenile companion scanned several small and lower-priced items, but failed to scan the larger and more valuable ones. She paid for the items she scanned, but not for $255.00 worth of goods that were still in her cart. She attempted to leave the store when she was stopped by Loss Prevention. Fenderson was processed at WWPD and released pending future court dates.

Investigation found that while the homeowners were away at work, someone had smashed through their bedroom window to gain entry into the house. The house was ransacked and the homeowner reported that a large amount of cash and jewelry were stolen from inside. Det. Fiore processed the crime scene for evidence and is the lead investigator for this case.

DETAILS: Ptl. Collins was detailed to the Target store for a shoplifter who was being detained by Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Alyssa Zenquis had selected numerous items valued at $772.36 and put them into a shopping cart. She attempted to push the cart full of goods out of the store without paying when she was stopped by store Loss Prevention. Zenquis was also found to have warrants for her arrest from Robbinsville, Hightstown, and Ewing. She was processed at WWPD and turned over to the Robbinsville Township Police Department on their warrant.
