UPDATE: Fourth Suspect Identified and Arrested in Fontana Home Invasion Case; Additional Victims May Exist

UPDATE:
4TH SUSPECT: Vincent Solarez, 58 years of age, resident of Upland
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, investigators learned Vincent Solarez was also involved in the crime. At approximately 9:45 a.m., detectives located Solarez driving a vehicle near the intersection of North Campus Avenue and East Washington Boulevard, in Upland.
Investigators conducted a felony traffic stop and took Solarez into custody without incident. Detectives served a search warrant at Solarez' residence and recovered evidence related to the crime. Solarez was arrested booked in at the West Valley Detention Center.
Detectives believe all four suspects have gang ties in the Inland Empire and are responsible for additional unreported home invasions, assaults, and extortions on local business owners. Detectives are releasing the suspects' booking photos and are encouraging anyone who may have been victimized by the suspects, or anyone with information related to any cases involving the four suspects, to contact Detective Pedersen at the Fontana Sheriff's Station at 909-356-6767. SUMMARY: On Monday, March 12, 2024, at approximately 03:00 a.m., both victims were woken up from their sleep at gunpoint by three armed suspects. Victim 1 was assaulted with a firearm and pistol whipped. Victim 2 was held against her will while they dragged Victim 1 to his desk. They took approximately $12,500 in cash, the video surveillance hard drive and the victim's vehicle. Victim 1 was able to call for help and was transported to a local hospital, where deputies were alerted. Deputy Peraza spoke to both victims and began her investigation. She obtained assistance from Detective Pedersen and continued investigating this critical case.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives positively identified Marcos Guerrero, Elijah Gafare, and Cynthia Leal as the three responsible for the home invasion and assault with the firearm. Investigators authored arrest warrants and search warrants for various locations associated with the suspects.
On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m. members of the Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED), Fontana Station Detectives and Multiple Enforcement Team (MET), executed two search warrants simultaneously and located all three suspects. Guerrero and Leal were located and arrested at an apartment located on the 1000 block of East Foothill Boulevard, in the city of Glendora. Gafare was located at a residence on the 700 block of South Manzanita Drive, in the city of West Covina.
All three suspects were arrested for the above charges and booked at West Valley Detention Center without further incident.
