On May 31, 2024, at 7:58 a.m. Deputy U.B. Smith responded to a Be On the Look Out report of a possible impaired driver on Broadway in Princeton.  The caller gave a detailed description of  the Red 2012 Dodge Caravan and stated the vehicle had crossed the center line multiple times and was often swerving.  The caller stayed behind the vehicle and on the phone with dispatch until law enforcement could get in the area.  Once Deputy Smith arrived on scene he observed the vehicle had expired plates.  At that point Deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 1000 block of East Broadway.  Upon approaching the vehicle the driver was identified as 56 year old Sheelah Brown of Princeton.  While speaking with Ms. Brown Deputy Smith detected evidence that would indicate Ms. Brown was under the influence of an unknown intoxicant.  At that point Deputy Smith began a roadside OWI investigation.  Once that investigation was finished Deputy Smith placed Ms. Brown into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Possession of Methamphetamines, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
