This transition follows the exceptional leadership of Township Manager Dean Kazinci, who is set to retire after serving over four (4) decades in Teaneck municipal government. Mr. Kazinci served the municipality as a law enforcement officer, director of human resources, deputy township manager, and township manager. Hashmat’s tenure in Hackensack was marked by her successful navigation of city administration complexities, where she spearheaded initiatives that significantly improved operational efficiency and fostered community engagement. She led a dynamic team of department heads, collaborated well with council members, and implemented policies that resonated with the community’s aspirations. Hashmat’s ability to manage substantial municipal budgets, formulate policies, and contribute to labor negotiations has earned her a reputation of excellence in public service delivery.
As a Certified Public Manager and NJMMA member, Hashmat emphasizes open communication with residents and council, ensuring their voices are integral to the decision-making process. “I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my energy, experience, and leadership skills to the Township of Teaneck,” said Hashmat. “I look forward to engaging with residents, council and the exceptional workforce to drive forward initiatives that will benefit the entire community.”
Hashmat’s appointment aligns seamlessly with the Township Council’s goals of fostering operational efficiency, enhancing community engagement, and driving strategic growth. Hashmat resides in Bergen County, NJ, with her husband and two children, who are actively involved in local school and community activities.
