Advisory
Fireworks use is limited to private property unless otherwise specified. Discharging fireworks in private open areas like parks, parking lots, or vacant property requires the property owner’s consent. Similarly, igniting fireworks in public or semi-public areas, excluding public streets and sidewalks, requires written authorization from the City and, if applicable, the property owner or their agent.
Individuals who discharge fireworks on public or private property must clean up all related debris and dispose of it in an appropriate trash receptacle. Fireworks debris should be allowed to cool for at least 30 minutes or be immersed in water before disposal.
ILLEGAL FIREWORKS: Cloverdale has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal fireworks. The sale, transport, or use of fireworks without the "Safe and Sane" seal is prohibited. Illegal fireworks in California include firecrackers, Roman candles, and skyrockets. Violating California State Fireworks Law can result in a misdemeanor charge, a fine of 500−1000, or up to one year in jail.
