Robberies
There were three robberies during the past week.
On Tuesday, 06-04-24, at approximately 7:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. An asset protection agent stated that he recognized a suspect who had previously shoplifted enter the store. Another asset protection agent saw the suspect conceal a fragrance box. A second suspect concealed earrings in her hand. Both suspects exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The first asset protection agent tried to detain the second suspect. The second suspect pushed the asset protection agent, punched him in the chest, and attempted to slap him in the face. The asset protection agent backed away and was only grazed by the slap. The asset protection agents recovered a $140 fragrance, a necklace worth $50, and hoop earrings worth $38. The suspect who pushed, punched, and attempted to slap the asset protection agent, a 23-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. On Wednesday, 06-05-24, at approximately 8:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Zumiez at the Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. A manager stated that the suspect entered the store, selected some tee shirts, and placed them in a stroller. The suspect went to the manned register and attempted to return the tee shirts. An employee asked for a receipt, but the suspect was not able to provide one. The suspect began to walk toward the exit without paying for the merchandise. The manager attempted to retrieve the merchandise, and the suspect said, “I will fire off and I will put hands on you.” The manager got scared, and the suspect left with approximately $200 worth of tee shirts, fleeing in a Dodge Durango. Officers located the vehicle, and the suspect, a 36-year-old Oakland resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
