On June 13, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Fremont Police Dispatch received multiple calls regarding a shooting at a drug store located within the Fremont Hub. Reporting parties stated that a security guard and another individual were involved in a verbal altercation. The altercation quickly turned into a violent encounter, which culminated with the security guard being shot and the other individual sustaining several stab wounds. Officers quickly arrived on the scene and provided life-saving efforts, but the security guard was pronounced deceased, and the other individual was transported to a local trauma hospital. This case remains an active investigation.
