Sheriff's Colorado River Station Hosts a Multi-Agency Dive Training to Help Prepare a Unified Response for Critical Incidents

SUMMARY: The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dive Team, located at the Colorado River Station, hosted a Muti-Agency Dive Training at Partner’s Point on a submerged mini van.Agencies involved were:
Mohave County Sheriff
Lake Havasu PD
Fish and Wildlife
Bureau of Land Management
San Bernardino County Fire Department
Lake Havasu Fire Department
River Medical and Air Methods
The training consisted of rescue and recovery of victims whose vehicle went off the roadway and submerged in the water. Victims were in the water near the sunken vehicle as well as dummies trapped inside. Training also consisted of scene evaluation, victim assessment, and coordination of resources. Divers were deployed and worked in zero visibility conditions but successfully rescued the victims trapped inside the vehicle.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department would like to thank all the agencies involved with the training. This training helps prepare all agencies involved for a unified response to critical incidents.
