Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male suspect in connection with an incident of criminal mischief that occurred on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., Police responded to a vacant building in the 900 block of Broad Street where witnesses reported seeing a male inside pouring a liquid on the floor and attempting to start a fire. Police observed a chemical with an odor of lighter fluid on the floor. No fire was observed and no injuries were reported.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the male as having a thin build, light complexion, and wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, and white and gray sneakers.
