Shooting

On 6/14/2024 at 10:32 a.m. Janesville Police Department officers responded to the area of the 100 block of W Holmes St for a person who had been shot. The caller reported a female was just shot by an unknown suspect and fled on foot wearing a mask. Several officers responded to the area and instructed nearby daycare centers to lock down for safety while searching for the alleged suspect.
 
During the investigation, officers learned the reporting person was the shooting suspect. The suspect is in custody and is currently being held at the Rock County Jail. The shooting victim was a juvenile who was treated at a local hospital and released.
