Red Flag Warning until 08:00AM Tuesday

...A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND WEST HILLS FROM MERCED TO KERN COUNTY THROUGH MORNING THROUGH 8 AM PDT TUESDAY MORNING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES... .Elevated fire weather conditions will continue in the Kern County mountains and the West Hills from Merced to Kern County through Tuesday morning. Very strong Northwesterly to North winds and relative humidity values of near 10 percent are forecast. The strongest winds are anticipated tonight and Monday, with sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph, with frequent gusts near 55 mph. The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 8 AM PDT Tuesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...The West Hills from Merced to Kern County and the Kern County Mountains from Frazier Park to Tehachapi.

* WIND...The strongest winds are forecast tonight and Monday, with sustained northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph, with frequent gusts near 55 mph.

* HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values of 10 to 15 percent with areas as low as 5 percent through the period.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WEST SIDE HILLS ... TEHACHAPI AREA ... FORT TEJON
