* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following county, Kalamazoo.
* WHEN...Until 915 AM EDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...The Portage Creek is flooding local roads due to heavy rainfall with some significant impacts expected overnight, including numerous road closures and some flooding of properties. Impacted roads included are Pitcher, Southtown, Portage, and Stockbridge Ave. Some homes along the 100 to 500 blocks of Lake Street will likely experience flood impacts. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 129 AM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain amounts of over 3 inches in many places. Flooding is ongoing across the Kalamazoo metropolitan area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kalamazoo, Portage, Westwood and Comstock. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
