This week, we are going to experience a significant #HeatWave across New Jersey with Excessive Heat expected Tuesday through Saturday. Daily high temperatures will be around 90°F on Monday, with highs reaching near 100°F from Tuesday through the weekend. With these temperatures reaching levels we haven't seen yet this year, beat the heat with these simple tips and check out the cooling center hours below

• Check on neighbors and family members, especially the elderly.
• Limit your time in direct sunlight and avoid strenuous outdoor activity.
• Wear sunscreen and sunglasses.
• Drink plenty of water.
• Never leave your kids or pets in the car unattended.
• Seek medical attention if you observe any signs of heat stroke including feeling faint, nausea or vomiting, rapid or weak pulse, and any other abnormal conditions.

For those needing a place to cool off, two cooling centers are available in Neptune Township:
• Neptune Senior Center (1607 RT 33) is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00AM to 3:45PM.
• Neptune Public Library (25 Neptune Blvd) is open 9:00AM to 5:00PM Monday and Wednesday, 9:00AM to 8:00PM Tuesday and Thursday, and 9:00AM to 1:00PM on Saturday.
