Advisory

Important message from the Denville Office of Emergency Management: A Heat Advisory/Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory which will remain in effect from 10AM on June 18th to 6AM on June 19th. An Excessive Heat Watch will be in effect from 6AM on June 19th to 8PM June 22nd with temps on Friday reaching 99F. During extreme heat, it is crucial to prioritize your well-being. Stay indoors in air-conditioned spaces as much as possible, and if you must go outside, limit activities to early morning or late evening hours. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and seek shade to avoid prolonged sun exposure.

On days where a Heat Advisory/Excessive Heat Watch has been issued, Denville Township will operate a cooling center at the Denville Library and the Town Hall Community Room. These two areas will be open during regular business hours (8AM to 3PM). After business hours, the Denville Police Headquarters Lobby can be used as a cooling center as well as other locations on a needed basis.Call 911 for emergencies only or the Denville Police non emergent line at 973-627-4900
