On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 10:50PM, officers were called to a residence in the 7400 block of Lynnlee on a person reporting his vehicle being shot. When officers arrived, they learned this occurred near SW 37/Coulter and Sleepyhollow Boulevard. The victim reported that as he was driving on Coulter southbound near Sleepyhollow, he heard a loud “pop”. He initially thought he drove over something, but then saw the bullet hole in his windshield. Once home, he discovered he had an injury to his leg, which came from the glass of his car window. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As officers were investigating the initial call, additional calls were received from victims who had gone to area hospitals for treatment or were calling from another location to report their vehicle being shot at. It was determined all the incidents occurred in the same general area, near 37th and Coulter and Sleepyhollow. Patrol officers determined there were four victims who had been injured, all non-life-threatening, and 5 vehicles had been damaged. Violent Crimes detectives, CSI, and team members from the Amarillo Regional Crime Center (ARCC) were called out. This investigation is ongoing.
