FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CDT THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of Central Kansas, including the following
counties, Marion and McPherson.
* WHEN...Until noon CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. There are numerous roads
in the warned area closed and impassable due to flood waters.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1112 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area.
Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 inch is possible in the
warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mcpherson, Lindsborg, Hillsboro, Marion, Moundridge, Inman,
Peabody, Galva, Canton, Florence, Marquette, Goessel, Burns,
Lincolnville, Ramona, Lehigh, Windom, Durham, Tampa and Lost
Springs.
Instructions:
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding
