Simi Valley, Calif. – On June 8, 2024, ten drivers were cited and two drivers were arrested at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at E. Los Angeles Avenue and Fifth Street from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Seven drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, three drivers were cited for other traffic related violations, and two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. 768 total vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program.
