Traffic Collision/ DUI Arrest

On June 19, 2024, at approximately 9:30 AM, Arroyo Grande Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Farroll Avenue and Oak Park Boulevard for the report of a reckless driver, possibly involved in a collision.
Patrol officers responded to the area and saw a small passenger car which had collided with an occupied trash collection truck in the 1000 Block of Farroll Avenue. Neither of the involved parties were injured from this collision.
Officers contacted the driver of the car, identified as 34-year-old Robert Meserve from Arroyo Grande. Meserve displayed objective symptoms of impairment and field sobriety tests were administered.
Meserve was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of a narcotic and subsequently booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail without further incident.
Meserve was booked on the charges of:
23152(f) VC- Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of Any Drug
11350 HS- Possession of Controlled Substance
11364 HS- Possession of Paraphernalia
