A persistent area of rain and thunderstorms will bring the potential for 1 to 3 inches of rain this afternoon through Friday night. As thunderstorms become more prevalent tonight through Friday, localized heavier accumulations are possible.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and northeast South Dakota, including the following counties, in central South Dakota, Buffalo, Hand, Hyde and Lyman. In northeast South Dakota, Clark, Codington, Deuel, Hamlin and Spink.
* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
