Convicted Felon Facing Numerous Charges After Abusing His Elderly Mother in Their Phelan Home

LOCATION: 11700 Block of El Esteban, Phelan
SUSPECT: David Dimmick, 41 years of age, resident of Phelan
VICTIM: 71-year-old Female
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 6:13 a.m., deputies were contacted at the Phelan Sheriff’s Sub-Station by a 71-year-old injured female.
The victim had visible injuries and alleged she was assaulted by her son, 41-year-old David Dimmick, at the residence they share in Phelan. At one point during the assault, she escaped out a door of the residence. Dimmick was able to catch her, put her in a car, and continued to assault her. The victim had injuries consistent with the reported assault. Deputies learned through the investigation that Dimmick was allegedly seen outside his residence before the assault firing an assault rifle.
Deputies wrote an arrest warrant for David Dimmick. Dimmick was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was authored for the residence and served at 9:53 a.m., on June 18, 2024.
Inside the residence, deputies located multiple guns, including two AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, one rifle did not have a serial number. Polymer Glock pistol lowers in various states of manufacture, and one semi-automatic handgun with no serial number were also located. Dimmick was using a 3D Printer to manufacture handguns. Large amounts of ammunition were located and various high-capacity magazines, including a 100-round drum, was located inside the residence. Deputies also located a Butane Honey Oil Lab inside the residence.
David Dimmick, who is a convicted felon, was booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $1,200,000.00 bail.
