* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of north central New Mexico, including the following county, south central Rio Arriba.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 252 PM MDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Abiquiu, Medanales and Chili. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
