Aggressive Driver Mobilization on U.S. Route 30 Results in Over 200 Violations
To date, the Absecon Police Department has mobilized for a zero-tolerance traffic campaign targeting aggressive driving on the U.S. Route 30 corridor. Sponsored by the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office, the following are statistics for the month of June:
- Motor Vehicle Stops: 175
- Violations Issued: 222
These numbers are concerning and reaffirm that strict enforcement must remain a priority.
The primary goal of this targeted enforcement is to reduce serious injuries and fatalities, thereby providing a safer route of travel on our highways. Aggressive driving behaviors, including speeding, are major contributors to traffic crashes.
This campaign will continue at various dates and times. Drivers are cautioned to obey the posted speed limits and follow all applicable motor vehicle laws.
We appreciate the continued support of the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office. Together, our goal is to create safe roadways for our residents and visitors to travel.
Stay safe and drive responsibly!
