Wilmington Police arrest wanted man on gun charges:
Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun charges.
On June 13, at approximately 9:05 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2800 block of Rosemont Avenue, in reference to a shots fired incident with no gunshot victims. Upon arrival, officers located a female suffering from minor injuries caused by debris from gunfire striking a residence. Through the course of their investigation, officers determined that the shots had been fired from a neighboring residence. Police responded to a residence in that block and made contact with a 17-year-old male juvenile, who was taken into custody without incident and found to be wanted on an unrelated matter. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant and recovered three 9mm handguns.
The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrants:
- Assault (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Seven Counts
- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine – Two Counts
- Reckless Endangering (First Degree)
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
