Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...
East Fork Des Moines River near Algona affecting Humboldt and
Kossuth Counties.
.Moderate flooding is expected along the West Fork Des Moines River.
Some crest forecasts are among the top three crests at some
locations.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation through Sunday morning.

...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD WATCH...
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from
Buffalo Creek near Burt to Lotts Creek near Livermore.
* WHEN...From Saturday evening until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Water affects US 169 south of Algona. US
169 near Saint Joseph will be cut off. Water also threatens
sections of US 18 east of US 169.
At 20.0 feet, Water affects portions of US 18. Water enters the
parking lot of the shopping center north of US 18 and west of the
river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 14.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow evening and continue rising to a crest of 20.5 feet
early Wednesday morning. This forecast crest would be the
third highest crest on record.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
