Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on a gun charge.
On June 13, at approximately 10:52 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 900 block of Church Street. Police made contact with the driver – 22-year-old Andrew Thompson, who was found to be wanted on an unrelated matter. Thompson was taken into custody without incident and following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Thompson has been charged with the following offense in addition to traffic violations and his outstanding warrant:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $2,550 unsecured bail.
