Incident: Subject Arrested for Possession of Obscene Matter

Suspect: Hugo Barajas, age 40, Petaluma
Charges: 311.11(a) P.C. (felony)
Incident Summary-
On 06/04/2024, detectives from the Petaluma Police Department, with assistance from detectives from the Northern California Computer Crimes Task Force, executed a search warrant at the home of Hugo Barajas, stemming from a tip related to illegal, obscene, digital images/data. Pursuant to the search warrant, electronic devices belonging to Barajas were located and seized.
On 06/19/2024, PPD detectives arrested Barajas at the Petaluma Police Department for 311.11(a) P.C.; Possessing images/data, etc. of persons under 18 years of age engaging in or simulating sexual conduct, after developing probable cause that Barajas was in possession of said illegal, obscene matter. Barajas was booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
