Full Notification

A small tree fire was ignited by a lightning strike this evening north of Little Susitna River. Initial estimates have the fire at under 1/10th of an acre. Due to its remote location, a helicopter operation was initiated and has the fire under contol. A Division of Forestry hand crew is hiking out to the location to ensure that the fire is fully extinguished. There is no risk to the community from this fire at this time. You may see crews operating or a helicopter flying overhead, but there is no need for concern. Due to the helicopter in the area, remember to keep your drones/UAV out of the air in the area so that they don't have to stop their operations. Responder safety is more important than your video.
