Wilmington Police have arrested two men on gun charges.
On June 19, at approximately 3:11 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1000 block of A Street, in reference to a person with a gun complaint. Upon arrival, police made contact with 19-year-old Dontae Jones of Philadelphia, and 19-year-old Chacarta Milton of Claymont. Following a brief investigation, Jones and Milton were taken into custody without incident, and police recovered two 40mm handguns.
Jones has been charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine
- Criminal Trespass – Third Degree
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $19,000 cash-only bail.
Milton has been charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of an Untraceable Firearm
- Criminal Trespass – Third Degree
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $16,000 secured bail.
