Camarillo, California. – On June 21, 2024, four people were arrested for various charges, including warrants and DUI offenses at a Driver’s License/ DUI Checkpoint. The DUI checkpoint was held on Arneill north of Ponderosa from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Nine drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 630 vehicles were contacted. DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
