Deputies Arrest Suspect Responsible for the Assault and Robbery of a 66-year-old Man in Rancho Cucamonga

LOCATION: 12000 Block of Foothill Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Brandon Randall Bencomo, Age 29, Transient of Fontana
VICTIM(S): Confidential Male Adult, Age 66
SUMMARY: On Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 7:38 P.M., deputies responded to the 12000 Block of Foothill Boulevard in the city of Rancho Cucamonga in reference to a robbery. The reporting party called dispatch and advised the victim had just been assaulted and robbed while seated on a bench.
Deputies arrived on the scene and obtained a description of the suspect and the last known direction of travel. Deputies conducted an extensive area check and, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Aviation Helicopter, located a subject a short distance from the scene who matched the suspect’s description. Brandon Randall Bencomo, a transient out of Fontana, was positively identified as the suspect and apprehended by responding deputies. Bencomo had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The victim suffered minor bruising and lacerations to the face and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC211-Robbery and his outstanding warrant for PC647F-Disordely Conduct.
