West Springfield, MA: Beginning Monday, July 1, 2024, trash hauling services in West Springfield will be provided by USA Waste & Recycling, which is based in Enfield, Connecticut. USA Waste & Recycling was selected by the Town Council after providing a competitive bid earlier this year. USA will handle hauling of trash, recycling and yard waste for all residents who currently receive service from the Town’s existing vendor.
USA Waste & Recycling is a third generation family owned business that was founded in 1974. USA provides hauling services for several commercial businesses in West Springfield and also services some of the Town’s condominium developments.
USA will provide service using the same routes as the existing contractor, so residents will not see their trash day change. In addition, residents will continue to utilize their existing trash and recycling carts. Although residents should notice little in the way of change during this transition, there may be variations in the time of day that the trash is picked up. To ensure that pickups are not missed, residents should have their trash (and recycling) curbside by 6:00 a.m. on their designated pickup day.
