Police Traffic Advisory: Wednesday, July 3rd/Fireworks in the Park Information
Traffic Advisory for July 3rd
Due to the Fireworks in the Park celebration, Donaldson Park will be closed to vehicular traffic. Spectators attending the event may park in any legal parking space along borough roads. Accessible parking will be available with proper documentation. Parties looking to gain entry to accessible parking should drive to the Middlesex County Park Ranger checkpoint located at the South Second Avenue entrance to Donaldson Park.
Due to the gridlock after the fireworks are set off, it is strongly encouraged that you either walk/bike to Donaldson Park or park away from the park. Valentine Street will be transformed into a pedestrian walkway and will be closed to all vehicular traffic for approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the fireworks.
Due to public safety considerations, the following temporary parking restrictions will be in effect on July 3rd from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- No parking on Valentine Street from S. 1st Avenue to S. 5th Avenue
- No parking on Riverview Avenue
- No parking on S. 2nd Avenue from Valentine Street to Donaldson Street
- No parking on S. 3rd Avenue from Valentine Street to Donaldson Street
- No parking on Braun Avenue from Valentine Street to Donaldson Street
Fireworks in the Park!
Highland Park's Community Services Dept. has secured a variety of food vendors and activities for Wednesday, July 3rd fireworks event.
Food vendors include Cinnaholic, Davey B's, Eat My Franks, Green Dog Mobile, Harry's Lil Kitchen, Hot Diggity Dog's, Il Forno A Legna, La Poncena, Lemonade Blends, Mister Softee, RoBeans LLC,Sweet Concessions, Padd Thai Food Truck, Tasty Tropical, Taco Ruta 100 CDMX, The Zeppole Guys Uncle Bob's Kettle Corn for purchase.
FREE face painting between 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm; Strolling Entertainment/Balloon Artist 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm; Fireworks at 9:15pm.
Rain date is Sunday, July 7th.
