LOCATION: Hook Boulevard/ El Evado Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): David Johnson, 30-year-old Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at approximately 6:51 p.m., Deputy H. Cuevas conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle trespassing and loitering in the parking lot of Mike's Liquor.
During the traffic stop, a strong odor of marijuana emitted from the vehicle and a recently lit marijuana cigarette was located on the driver door. The driver, David Johnson, exited the vehicle and was searched. A vehicle search was also conducted and a semi-automatic Walther Pistol 22 caliber and a loaded magazine were located. Johnson is a convicted felon and known gang member and is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
While Johnson was detained in the backseat of the patrol vehicle, he kicked the rear passenger door causing significant damage with the ability to escape and causing thousands of dollars of damage.
David Johnson was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 25850(C)(3)- Gang Member in Possession of a Firearm, P.C. 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, P.C. 30305(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of Ammunition, P.C. 4532(A)(1)- Escape Attempt, P.C. 594(A)(2)- Vandalism and Damage of Property
