Sheriff Richard J. Behnke, reports that on 06/26/2024 at approximately 2230 hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash in the area of Fox St. and N O’Keefe Rd, in La Grange Township, Cass County Michigan.  
  
Investigation shows that 52-year-old, Cassopolis resident; Brian Herthoge was traveling southbound on O’Keefe St. north of Fox St., when a deer entered the roadway causing Herthoge to hit the deer. Herthoge lost control of his motorcycle, the motorcycle continued southbound on it left side for approximately 500 yards. The motorcycle came to rest in the northbound lane. Herthoge was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.  
 
Herthoge was not wearing a Helment and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
