This weekend, the Maple Shade Police Department will be involved in emergency management operations for the annual Parade and Fireworks.  For these events, the area immediately above any portion of these operations, to include the parade route, fireworks display area, spectator areas, emergency personnel & equipment, and/or any other airspace reasonably considered to be within an unsafe distance of these areas, is designated as a NO DRONE ZONE for any unauthorized flights.  

Unauthorized takeoff and landing of remote controlled or unmanned aircraft or drones is prohibited from any of the areas mentioned above, as well as anywhere on Maple Shade School District property.  

Drone operators are reminded of FAA rules governing the operation of drones, specifically over people and/or vehicles, as well as night operations.  https://www.faa.gov/uas

Federal Aviation Regulations prohibit the unsafe or unauthorized operation of an aircraft, including drones. Unsafe operations may result in substantial civil penalties and possible action against an operator's FAA-issued certificate, or may be subject to criminal response by law enforcement in accordance with Federal, State and local laws or ordinances.
