Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Trevon H. Murad, 23, of Linden, who is wanted in connection with an aggravated assault shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 800 block of South 16th Street. Responding officers located an adult male and an adult female who had been shot following an altercation with a woman they both knew. Before the shooting, the woman arrived at the scene with a group of females and a male.
The victims were transported to University Hospital for treatment and are reportedly in stable condition.
Shooting detectives have identified Trevon H. Murad as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
