Police Seek Help Locating Irvington Man Wanted for Questioning in Armed Robbery Investigation

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help locating Anthony Carter, Jr., 33, of Irvington, who is wanted for questioning in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
 
At approximately 11:30 p.m., Police responded to a robbery call at a residence on Sherman Avenue near Astor Street. The victim opened his front door to let out a male visitor when two armed males pushed their way into the residence. The suspects went through the victims’ pockets, stealing the first victim’s wallet, containing $400.00 and other personal belongings. A third victim, inside the residence, was also robbed of his wallet and car keys. No items were taken from the male visitor who was being let out of the residence, however. 
 
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspects as Black males, wearing all-black clothing and face masks. Both suspects are approximately 6 ft. tall with slim builds. They both fled the scene on foot, heading south on Sherman Avenue.
 
Police are seeking Anthony Carter, Jr. for questioning regarding this incident.
