Narrative:
On June 27th, 2024, Thousand Oaks Patrol personnel, East County Investigations and neighboring law enforcement agencies located and arrested 5 robbery suspects, who were suspected of committing a robbery at the Macy’s Men’s and Home located at The Oaks Mall.

On June 27th, 2024, at approximately 3:51 PM, Ventura County Sheriff’s Communication Center received a call from the victims stating, Victim #1 had been battered and a high-end watch was taken from his person.  Victim #2 was also battered, and her purse was taken.  Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

The suspects were described as four Black males and one Black female.  Sheriff’s deputies immediately responded to the area and subsequently located the suspects in a green colored sedan in the area of southbound Highway 101 and Lynn Road.  Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to yield.  A vehicle pursuit ensued and during the vehicle pursuit, a handgun was discarded from the vehicle which was immediately recovered by deputies involved in the pursuit.  The pursuit lasted for several minutes and eventually ended when the suspect vehicle turned onto a dead-end cul-de-sac at Cottonwood Grove Trail and Raven Court in the City of Calabasas.  Four of the suspects fled the area on foot.  One suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit, California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area to assist with a search for the outstanding suspects.  A perimeter was established, and the four outstanding suspects were located in the immediate area.  During the arrest of one of the suspects, the stolen high-end watch was located on his person, further linking the suspects to their involvement in the robbery.

The firearm discarded during the vehicle pursuit was determined to be stolen out of the City of Glendora.

All three juveniles were lodged at the Ventura County Juvenile Center for Felony Penal Code 211/ Robbery, Felony penal Code 182(a)(1) / Conspiracy, Felony penal Code 368(a) / Elder Abuse as well as firearm charges.

The two adults, Corey Thomas and Jonathan Requejo were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of Penal Code 211/ Robbery, Felony Penal Code 182(a)(1) / Conspiracy, Felony penal Code 368(a) / Elder Abuse, Vehicle Code 2800.2(a) / Felony Evading as well as firearm charges, including 25400(a)(2) PC / Carry a Concealed firearm on Person, 25850(a) PC / Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and 27545 PC / Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm.

Thomas’ bail was set at $100,00 and he is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on 7/1/2024.  Requejo’s bail was also set at $100,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on 7/1/2024.
