On Monday, June 24th at about 8:00PM, 21-year-old Zyanya Valora walked away from her
residence in Mira Monte, an unincorporated suburb located in the Ojai Valley. Zyanya suffers
from autism and is considered at risk.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has many resources dedicated to the search of Zyanya,
including search and rescue teams from Ventura County, Kern County, Los Angeles County
and Santa Barbara County, Ventura County mounted teams, Ventura County aviation unit
unmanned aerial unit, scent K9’s and other specialized teams. Searches have been conducted daily and throughout evening hours and will continue through the weekend. We thank the
community for being alert to any sighting and your support via sharing social media. Thank you to
all local businesses for posting flyers with Zyanya’s information.
As we continue our search, we would like to remind the community to call if they have any
information on the whereabouts of Zyanya of if they see Zyanya in the area. You can help
in the search by walking your private property to check buildings and thick brush, where
Zyanya could find refuge. Also, check any home surveillance footage for sightings of Zyanya.
To report any information about Zyanya’s location, contact the Ventura County Sheriff’s
Office at (805) 654-9511. Zyanya is described as 5ft. tall, 90 pounds with black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white top, shorts and no shoes. Zyanya may not be
communicative if approached due to her disability.
