Special Weather Statement until 05:45PM

At 522 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Mccune, or 11 miles east of Parsons, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Girard, Cherokee, Weir, Sherman, Scammon, Chicopee, Mccune, West Mineral, Roseland, Beulah, Carona, Skidmore, and Ringo.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
