On 6/29/24, at approximately 1726 hours, Santa Clara Valley patrol deputies responded to a mutual aid request from Ventura County Fire officials reference several individuals possibly struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered two adult males suffering from injuries on the ground in an open field to the south of Warring Park in the city of Piru. One of the adult males was later pronounced deceased at the scene by Ventura County Fire officials. The other adult male subject was transported to a local trauma center and was later discharged.
This incident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to reach out to Sheriff's Major Crimes (805) 384-4724.
