Flood Advisory until 07:00PM

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union and southeast New York, including the following counties, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, New York (Manhattan), Queens and Richmond (Staten Island).

* WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 420 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. Locally higher amounts are possible. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Newark, Jersey City, Jamaica, Paterson, Elizabeth, Flatbush, Flushing, Passaic, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack, Linden, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Orange and Bergenfield. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
