CGL Facility Maintenance is currently working on the malfunctioning HVAC system at the Jail. SHERIFF LEVON ALLEN
The Clayton County Jail is currently experiencing a malfunction with the HVAC units at the jail. This affects the Employees, Contract Staff, and Detainees/Inmates.
Temperatures are currently as low as 79.5 degrees in some areas and 90.7 degrees in others.
The daily temperature setting inside the jail is approximately 72 degrees on average.
The Facility Maintenance and Management Services are provided by CGL Facility Management, LLC.
They are contracted by the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, and they have been called in to fix the issue.
After troubleshooting by CGL it was reported that a valve arm on Chiller #1 came loose. CGL reattached the arm from the actuator to the valve and more chilled water started to flow from the chiller to the campus.
CGL will be onsite until the temperatures show a trend of falling to be comfortable/tolerable.
