Enjoy a Safe 4th of July: Leave Fireworks to the Pros

Celebrate Safely This Independence Day!

As we prepare to celebrate Independance Day, let's ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:

  • Fireworks are illegal in Burr Ridge and throughout Illinois. For a fun and safe alternative, join the Pleasantdale Park District’s Independence Day Fireworks Display on Wednesday, July 3rd at Walker Park!
  • Be cautious with legal novelty fireworks like sparklers and party poppers. Did you know sparklers burn at over 1,200°F? That’s hot enough to melt some metals and they stay dangerously hot even after the sparks stop! Fireworks like firecrackers, bottle rockets, and cherry bombs are prohibited—even if you purchased them outside Illinois.
  • Not everyone enjoys fireworks, and pets are especially sensitive to loud noises. Please be considerate of your neighbors and furry friends.
  • Expect traffic delays around Walker Park immediately after the fireworks display. Follow officers' directions, watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, and drive sober. Consider rideshares, taxis, or having a designated driver. Let's keep our roads safe for everyone!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
